Delivery zones decide where you deliver and what it costs. Time slots decide when. In GetFloristPOS you set both once per location, and from then on every delivery order carries a date, a slot, a zone fee and a card message, which is exactly what the van sheet needs. Allow about fifteen minutes.

Before you start

  • Your shop location is saved in Settings → Business locations.
  • A list of the areas you deliver to, by ZIP code, neighborhood, district or distance, and the fee for each.
  • Your delivery windows, for example 9–12, 12–3 and 3–6, plus any same-day cut-off time.
  • A rough number for how many deliveries each van can handle in one slot.

Steps

  1. Turn on delivery for the location. Go to Settings → Business settings → Sale and make sure shipping or home delivery is enabled. This adds the delivery address, charges and status (ordered, packed, shipped, delivered) to every sale.

  2. Add your delivery zones and fees. Under the delivery settings, add one zone per area, for example “Downtown, 0–5 miles” or “Dubai Marina”. Give each a fee in your currency. Keep names short; staff pick them from a list at the counter.

  3. Create the time-slot field. Go to Settings → Custom fields for sales and add a field labeled “Delivery date” (date type) and another labeled “Time slot” (dropdown). Mark both as required for delivery orders so nobody books a delivery without a window.

  4. Enter your daily time slots. In the “Time slot” dropdown, type one option per window, such as “9–12”, “12–3”, “3–6”. Add a “Same day, ASAP” option only if you really run one. Our setup guide suggests no more than 12 slots a day.

  5. Set a cap on orders per slot. Write your cap into the slot’s label or your delivery notes, for example “9–12 (max 15)”, so the counter can see it while booking. Check the day’s bookings in Sell → Shipments, filtered by delivery date and slot, before taking more orders into a busy window.

  6. Add the card message field. Add one more custom field called “Card message” (text) so the enclosure card wording travels with the order and prints on the work ticket.

  7. Test with a sample order. In Sell, ring up a test bouquet as a delivery, choose a zone, date and slot, and save it as a draft. Open Shipments to confirm it shows the right date, slot and fee, then delete the draft.

Common problems

The time-slot field does not appear at checkout

Custom fields only show where they are enabled. Check that the field is set for sales and, for the online store, that it is included in the checkout settings.

Delivery fee is not added to the total

The zone fee is added as a shipping charge. Make sure shipping charges are enabled for the location and that staff choose a zone rather than typing an address only.

Two shops need different slots

Slots live in a shared field. Name them with the location, for example “Lahore 10–1” and “DHA 10–1”, or keep one standard set of windows across shops.

Slots look an hour off after a clock change

Check the time zone in Settings → Business settings. Slots are labels, but delivery dates follow your business time zone.

Your zones and slots are ready. Now take a real one: continue with Take a delivery order to book a bouquet into a slot and print the van sheet.

FAQ

How many time slots can I have in a day?

Our setup guide suggests up to 12 slots a day. That is a recommendation, not a hard limit, but more slots usually make van sheets harder to plan.

Can a zone have a different fee on holidays?

Yes. Edit the zone's delivery charge before the holiday and change it back afterward, or add a separate holiday zone fee that staff pick during busy weeks.

Can customers choose a slot on the online store?

Yes. Once the delivery date and time-slot fields are set up, they appear at checkout on your online store as well as at the counter.

What happens when a slot is full?

Staff can see how many orders are already booked into each slot. When you reach your cap, book the next slot or confirm the extra order with the driver first.
