Wire orders

Orders that arrive from other shops, and orders you send to shops near a recipient, sit apart from your walk-ins and web sales. Each one shows its delivery slot, card message, fees and what it really earns before you accept it.

How do wire orders work, and where does the money go?

A wire order splits one sale between two shops. The sending florist takes the customer’s order and payment; the filling florist near the recipient designs and delivers it. In between, a relay network usually takes fees from one or both sides. Some orders also arrive through “order gatherers”, websites that look like local florists and pass the order on after taking their share.

GetFloristPOS doesn’t change the network’s terms. It makes them visible: every wire order carries its fees, so your reports show what filling actually earns, and you can set rules about which orders are worth accepting. Read the full guide to wire orders.

  • Minimum order value

Below it, the order arrives flagged for a human decision instead of auto-joining the van sheet.

  • Zones you fill

Out-of-zone addresses are flagged before you accept, not discovered by the driver.

  • Cut-off times

Same-day incoming orders after your cut-off go to the next open slot, or get declined.

  • Substitution policy

Your standing note on like-for-like substitutions travels with every accepted order.

Guide: Receive and send wire orders

What the wire queue doesn’t do

It isn’t a network: it won’t send you orders on its own, and it doesn’t replace a membership if you want network orders. It also doesn’t settle money between shops; the network does that, or you do for direct orders, and we record it.

What it does is stop wire work disappearing into the retail day: separate queue, slots respected, fees recorded, and a weekly report that answers “is filling worth it?” honestly.

FAQ

What is wire order software for florists?

Wire order software keeps orders that travel between florists, through relay networks or directly, in their own queue: incoming orders you fill, and outgoing orders you send to a shop near the recipient. GetFloristPOS keeps them apart from walk-in and web sales, with the fees recorded on each order, so you can see what wire work really earns.

Is GetFloristPOS a wire service?

No. We are point-of-sale software, not a relay network. You keep your own memberships (or none), and we connect the networks you choose by integration through our API connector. We are not affiliated with any network and we never take a share of wire orders.

Which networks can I connect?

The connection is built for the network you use, through the API connector, and set up with you on your demo. Ask about FTD, Teleflora, BloomNet or a regional network on the call; we will tell you plainly what the connection covers before you commit.

Can I send orders to florists I know directly, without a network?

Yes. Many florists keep a list of trusted shops in other towns and send orders directly by phone or email. Record them as outgoing wire orders with the filling shop as a contact, and the money owed is tracked on their ledger.

How do I avoid unprofitable incoming orders?

Set accept rules: a minimum value, the zones you deliver, cut-off times and your substitution policy. Orders outside the rules arrive flagged, so staff review them instead of auto-accepting a dozen roses for a price that doesn’t cover the stems.

Do wire orders use my delivery slots?

Yes. Once accepted, an incoming order takes a place in the delivery slot for its date, counts against that slot’s capacity and appears on the van sheet like any other delivery.

Can I see wire revenue separately in reports?

Yes. Wire orders carry their own order type, so sales reports split wire from retail and online, and network fees are recorded per order for a true margin view.

Which plan includes the wire queue?

The wire order queue is in Bloom and Garden. Bud covers counter, delivery and online orders. Connecting a network through the API connector is set up on your demo.
