Delivering flowers in Dubai

Dubai customers expect same-day delivery, often within a few hours, and order heavily on WhatsApp and Instagram. Most addresses are given as a tower name, a community and a landmark; every building in Dubai also has a 10-digit Makani number, which pinpoints the entrance. Access to towers, gated villa communities and hotels can need the recipient's name and phone at the gate. Traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road and between Deira and the Marina makes slot planning matter. In GetFloristPOS, store the Makani number, the pin and a gate note on each order, set zones by community with fees, and cap each slot.

Your zones, for example

  • Downtown Dubai and Business Bay
  • Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim
  • Deira and Bur Dubai

The flower trade in Dubai

The Dubai Flower Centre, inside the cargo area of Dubai International Airport (DXB), is a temperature-controlled hub built for flowers and perishables. Air freight from the Netherlands, Kenya, Ecuador, Colombia and India passes through it, and Dubai wholesalers collect from there and deliver to shops across the emirates.

Dubai has a very wide range of flower businesses: mall kiosks, community florists in residential areas, online-only studios working from a cold room, and luxury design houses supplying hotels, weddings and brands. Many sell more through Instagram and WhatsApp than through a counter.

Competition is strong from delivery apps and gifting platforms that charge commission on each order. Independents who own their customer list, occasion dates and online store can sell direct, and many combine flowers with chocolates, cakes and perfume in one gift.
