Custom arrangements

Write a design down once as a recipe: stems, greens, hardgoods and labour. GetFloristPOS suggests the price from your markups, takes the custom order with a photo and notes, and deducts every stem from stock when it sells.

Example figures for illustration, in USD. Your costs, markups and currency are your own.

Why recipes, not guesses?

A designer under pressure makes the deluxe a little more deluxe every time. Without a recipe, nobody sees it until the month’s margin is gone. A recipe makes the design repeatable, the price defensible, and the stock count automatic.

Who it’s for

Shops that sell the same signature designs in sizes, do sympathy work to a standard, or quote weddings piece by piece.

What it isn’t

It doesn’t design for you or set your markups. It does the arithmetic and the stock-keeping, and leaves the art to you.

From recipe to sale

  1. Write the recipe once

List the stems, greens and hardgoods in a design, with quantities. It works like a bill of materials: the arrangement is made of stock items.

FAQ

How do I price a custom flower arrangement?

Add up the wholesale cost of the stems and greens, apply your stem markup, add hardgoods (vase, grid, ribbon) at their own markup, then add labour for the design time. GetFloristPOS does this from the recipe, so the suggested price moves when your stem costs change. Markups are yours to set; many florists use a multiple on flowers and a smaller one on hardgoods.

What is an arrangement recipe?

A recipe is the list of stems, greens and hardgoods that make up a design, with quantities. In GetFloristPOS it behaves like a bill of materials: selling the arrangement deducts each component from stock, and the cost of the components drives the suggested price.

Can I attach a photo or sketch to a custom order?

Yes. Custom orders carry notes and an attached reference image, so the designer at the bench sees what the customer described. The note prints on the work ticket.

Can customers order custom arrangements online?

Your online store sells the arrangements in your catalogue with size options (standard, deluxe, premium). For true one-offs, add a “Designer’s choice” product with a budget field, or take the order by phone or WhatsApp and send a payment link from the order.

What if I substitute a stem?

Edit the order’s recipe before you make it. Stock is deducted for the stems you actually used, and the order keeps a note of the substitution for the customer conversation.

Can I give quotes before the customer commits?

Yes. Save the custom order as a quotation, send it, and convert it to a sale or an event order with a deposit when the customer says yes.

Does it work for weddings with many pieces?

Yes. Each piece (bouquet, buttonholes, centrepieces) is a line built from its own recipe, inside an event order with a deposit and balance-due date. See event orders.

Which plan includes recipes?

Arrangement recipes that deduct stems are in Bloom and Garden. Bud sells arrangements as products with sizes but does not break them into stems.
