How much deposit should a wedding florist take?
Many wedding florists ask for a deposit in the range of 25 to 50 percent of the estimated total, though some use a fixed booking fee instead. The right amount depends on how far ahead you book and how much you spend before the event. The deposit should be large enough that a cancellation does not leave you out of pocket for time already spent.
When should the final balance for wedding flowers be due?
A common practice is to set the balance due a few weeks before the event, often two to four weeks. That gives you time to place final flower orders with your wholesalers knowing the money is in hand. Avoid collecting the balance on the wedding day, when everyone is busy and payment problems are hard to solve.
